چکیده

Modeling and simulation are important tools for efficient product development. There is a growing need collaboration, interdisciplinary simulation, re-usability of models. This usually requires to be coupled together co-simulation. However, the usefulness co-simulation often limited by poor performance numerical instability. Achieving stability especially hard stiff mechanical couplings. A suitable method use transmission line modeling (TLM), which separates submodels using physically motivated time delays. The most established standard tool coupling today Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI). Two example models in one dimension three dimensions used demonstrate how next version FMI can conjunction with TLM. properties TLM also proven analysis. Tool-Independent Distributed Simulations Using Transmission Line Elements And The Functional Mock-up Interface

This paper describes how models from different simulation tools can be connected and simulated on different processors by using the Functional Mockup Interface (FMI) and the transmission line element method (TLM). Interconnectivity between programs makes it possible to model each part of a complex system with the best suited tool, which will shorten the modelling time and increase the accuracy ...

Combining Advantages of Specialized Simulation Tools and Modelica Models using Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI)

In power plant applications, detailed transient analysis of the evaporator results in very large fluid systems, i.e. the model consists of many equations. This is because the evaporator has many tubes and the spatial discretization has to be quite fine in order to appropriately model transient evaporation processes. In such cases, due to performance and workflow reasons, we use a specialized in...

Functional Digital Mock-up and the Functional Mock-up Interface – Two Complementary Approaches for a Comprehensive Investigation of Heterogeneous Systems

Functional Digital Mock-up (FDMU) and Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI) are two keywords arising in the last years in simulation technology. In this paper, we would like to show that both principles, aiming at a comprehensive investigation of heterogeneous systems, e.g. from mechatronics, are not necessarily competing with each other but may be combined to benefit from the ideas behind. The ap...

Chattering-Free Simulation of Hybrid Dynamical Systems with the Functional Mock-Up Interface 2.0

The numerical simulation of non-smooth hybrid systems exhibiting chattering behavior requires high computational costs. In the worst case, the simulation appears to come to a halt, since infinitely many discrete transitions would need to be simulated. In this paper we present an FMI-based framework and prototypical implementation for robust and reliable detection and elimination “On the Fly” of...

PyFMI: A Python Package for Simulation of Coupled Dynamic Models with the Functional Mock-up Interface

With the advent of the Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI) standard, exchanging dynamic models between modeling and simulation tools has been greatly simplified. At the core of it, FMI is a standardized and unified model execution interface for dynamic models. FMI has gained widespread adoption among users and numerous commercial and open source tools implement support for the standard. In this ...
